Merge PDF Files in the Correct Order
Combining separate PDFs can make a report, application, invoice pack, or study bundle easier to store and send. Before merging, remove duplicate pages and confirm that each source document belongs in the final file. Merging is a packaging step; it does not check whether the information is accurate or whether the combined document meets a recipient’s rules.
Arrange files deliberately
Select the PDFs in the order you want them to appear. A cover sheet, contents page, main document, and appendices usually have a natural sequence. File selection order can be easy to overlook, so use descriptive file names and inspect the resulting document from its first page to its last.
Compatibility and security
Encrypted or damaged PDFs may fail to load or may need to be unlocked in an authorized PDF application first. Some forms, digital signatures, bookmarks, and interactive features may not behave the same after document processing. If a signed or official document must retain its signature validity, do not assume a merged copy remains digitally signed.
Privacy-conscious workflow
The merge tool loads a free open-source PDF library from a CDN when you run it; no paid API is required, but an internet connection is needed for that library. Process sensitive files on a device you trust, keep originals, and verify page count and sequence before distributing the merged PDF.
