Check SEO Title Width Before Publishing
Search result titles are displayed in a limited visual area, so very long titles may be shortened or rewritten. A pixel-width estimate is more useful than character count alone because wide letters such as W take more space than narrow characters such as i. Search engines can still alter titles based on device, query, and page content, so there is no guaranteed cutoff.
Write for clarity first
Put the page’s main subject early, use natural language, and make the title distinct from other pages on your site. Avoid repeating the same keyword or adding a long string of variants just to fill the available space. A title should accurately represent the page and help a reader decide whether it matches their need.
Use the checker in an editing workflow
Paste a candidate title and compare the estimated width with an alternative. If it is too wide, remove filler, shorten a phrase, or move secondary wording into the meta description. Recheck the title after edits and make sure the final wording still reads naturally. Do not sacrifice meaning solely to reach a numerical target.
Important limitations
This tool estimates width from character-specific approximations; it does not reproduce every search engine font, device, or result layout. Pair the estimate with a clear title, a useful page, and relevant internal links. Pixel width alone is not a ranking factor or a guarantee that a title will be shown exactly as written.
