Image Watermark Tool

Add a text watermark to an image and download the result.

Add an Image Watermark That Remains Readable

A watermark may identify the creator, brand, or intended use of an image. Keep the text short and legible at the final display size. A large opaque mark can obscure the subject, while an extremely faint mark may disappear after compression or resizing. Consider the viewing context before deciding on font size and placement.

Balance visibility and image quality

A watermark should contrast with the area behind it without dominating the image. Light text can work over a dark region; dark text may suit a bright region. For varied photographs, a subtle outline or semi-transparent backing can improve legibility, although this tool’s text watermark is best used for simple, consistent labels.

Prepare the image first

Crop and resize the image before adding the watermark so the mark is proportionate to the final output. Keep a clean original without a watermark for future edits. If you publish different sizes across a website and social channels, create and check each final size separately rather than assuming one watermark will scale perfectly.

Limitations and responsible use

The tool draws the watermark through browser canvas and lets you download a new image; it does not make an image impossible to copy or remove. Avoid covering required credits or legal notices, and only watermark images you own or have permission to modify. Review the exported image at full size before sharing it.
